Motion and Interaction

Motion and Interaction · Product Industrial Design (Blender & Digital Twin) course

Use animation as a tool to check the mechanism: set up a hinge, build named open–close clips, and catch part collisions before printing for real.

# Lesson Content
1 Open–close animation and collision checking Preparing the lid’s pivot, keyframing open–close, naming the Action, checking for collisions during playback, and preparing clips for the Twin
2 Lab: lid animation and a short motion sequence Setting up the hinge, keyframing the lid_open clip, building a close clip, checking for collisions, and recording the clip list

Approximate time per the original: about 3 hours (lessons) + a 2.5–3 hour lab.

Accompanying sheets and templates (in the resources/ folder of lesson 1):

Before moving to the next module, check that you can do the following:

  • The lid’s origin sits at the hinge
  • Open/close clips named with short English names, such as lid_open
  • Collision-check results recorded
  • animation-clip-list.md filled in, with image or clip evidence
