Breadboarding, soldering, schematics, PCB and EMC basics
Module goal: assemble a prototype circuit yourself, read a board’s schematic, and understand the basics of PCB design.
Status alpha (in trial use) · about 260 minutes
You need: a breadboard, a soldering iron and safety equipment, a soldering practice board, the board’s schematic, a multimeter, and an oscilloscope

Module checkpoint
Section titled “Module checkpoint”- can wire an LED-and-button circuit on a breadboard from a schematic in one attempt, and check it before applying power
- can solder one row of a connector well enough to pass visual and multimeter inspection
- can point out decoupling, ground and high-speed signal sections on the board’s schematic
