The oscilloscope
Module goal: see a signal’s real waveform, in both time and voltage.
Status alpha (in trial use) · about 130 minutes
You need: an oscilloscope with a 10× probe and a ground spring if available, and a TESAIoT Dev Kit flashed with the QWA309 Header I/O Test example
| Lesson | Topic | Time |
|---|---|---|
| elec.m05.l01 | Oscilloscope basics | 65 minutes |
| elec.m05.l02 | Measuring PWM | 65 minutes |
Module checkpoint
Section titled “Module checkpoint”- can set timebase, volts/div and trigger to get a stable view of the PWM signal on a header pin
- can measure PWM’s duty cycle and frequency, and compare them against what the program commanded
- can explain the difference between what a logic analyzer tells you and what an oscilloscope tells you
